Ecommerce giant Amazon is launching a n exporting tool called Export Central. This allows sellers to reach more customers in Europe, even in countries without localized Amazon stores. Thanks to the tool, sellers do not have to duplicate their listing or register new accounts.
The online marketplace announced today that it is launching the exporting tool. It is part of a wider European Export Program. Sellers from six Amazon stores (the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands) can now reach customers in 39 European countries.
Localized store not necessary
These include countries where there is no local Amazon store, like Austria, Portugal and Greece. However, sellers on the Amazon store in the Netherlands can only export to Belgium. The company did not explain why in its press release.
Normally, when online sellers want to start cross-border selling on Amazon, they need to create a new account on Amazon’s localized website. But with this new program, sellers from the selected countries no longer need to.
Export program will drive traffic
According to the company, the export program will drive traffic and conversion to existing seller listings. It is accessible to all sellers, they do not need to use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) or the Merchant Fulfilled Network. However, FBA sellers automatically enroll into the program.
Merchants can enable shipping settings from multiple stores at the same time
Merchants that are interested in the program, can now enable shipping settings (including rates and transit times) from multiple stores at the same time. This takes them only three clicks in the Export Central, which can be accessed through their Seller Account.
Facilitating international expansion
“We are always looking at ways to support our selling partners to grow their business and Export Central is a game-changer for Amazon sellers looking to expand their businesses across borders, especially in countries where Amazon does not operate a store. Sellers can now seamlessly list and ship their products across Europe with ease”, said Xavier Flamand, Amazon’s VP of Seller Services in Europe.
‘Our program eliminates the barriers to international expansion’
“Our program eliminates many of the traditional barriers to international expansion, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on what they do best – creating and selling amazing products. At Amazon, we are committed to empowering small and medium-sized businesses by providing them with powerful tools and services to reach customers globally.”
